This wine was born in 1999 by the 4th owner, Shigekazu Misawa, who was fascinated by the potential of Pinot Gris in Alsace. The name "Grid" is derived from "Gris" and "de (...)", which represent the color of the skin of Koshu. This wine, which began to be brewed with an eye on the future so that one day Japanese wine will be lined up on the table as a matter of course, is used not only at home but also at many restaurants, and brings out the best characteristics of Koshu. It became known as one of the wines. (It is also the brand that was acted upon when the award commemorative celebration of Yoshinori Ohsumi, Professor Emeritus of Tokyo Institute of Technology, who received the Nobel Prize for his research on autophagy in 2017.)
