Our ‘Smart Mask’ uses Nanotechnology developed by Nano and Advanced Materials Institute Limited (NAMI).
The Nanofibers in our masks are as thin as 3/1000th the width of a single human hair which allows for both a high specific surface area and porosity.
A : Anti-dusk
Using Nanofibers manufactured in a cleanroom environment – the Smart Mask is designed with the highest protection in mind. As such the mask is able to filter against dust & pollutants which are of the Most Penetrating Particle Size (MPPS)
S : Safe
Tests performed by Nelson Laboratories USA show a Virus Filtration Efficiency (VFE) of >99.9% as well as >99% of bacteria being killed on the spot1. With the combination of high filtration and breathability, wearers are able to greatly increase the quality of the air they breathe in.
A person at rest uses around 6-8 L/min of air. Walking uses around 14-26 L/min.
When a person is active e.g. jogging, the air requirement is usually over 40L/min.
This is important as the higher the airflow – the lower the filtration efficiency of a mask. Most commercially available masks such as surgical masks are tested under an airflow of just 30 L/min so their protection is questionable when the wearers are physically active. The Smart Mask is tested under stress of 85L/min thus providing protection no matter whether the wearer is at rest or active.
K : Kill Bacteria
The Smart Mask’s unique properties allows it to trap over 99% of Viruses and kill over 99% of Bacteria as tested by both Nelson Laboratories US & the Chinese Academy of Sciences. The patented Smart Mask is the first Antimicrobial Nanofiber mask utilising its unique formula which offers greater than N95 levels of filtration.
The Smart Mask has been acknowledged at the Geneva International Exhibition of Inventions in 2016 by being awarded a Silver medal in recognition of the breakthrough technology.
